Image resize

Client

Shrink a photo or illustration to fit a max width or height—aspect ratio stays locked. For format conversion, enhance, and metadata on one screen, use the main Image tools hub. To squeeze many JPEG/WebP files in one go, use Compress.

Max 8 MB. Long edge caps at 2048 px. Paste with Ctrl+V / ⌘V when this page is focused.

Leave one side empty to scale only by the other. Aspect ratio is preserved; images smaller than the max stay unchanged unless the long edge exceeds the site cap.

Common use cases

  • Produce a bookmark-sized hero image that fits a max width your CMS or static site generator enforces.
  • Shrink screenshots before attaching them to tickets or chat when only dimensions matter, not pixel-perfect editing.
  • Export WebP or JPEG from a single upload when you only need resize plus format—not the full image workspace.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Upsizing small sources

Scaling up makes soft or blocky output. Start from a larger original when print or zoom matters.

  • Expecting EXIF to survive

Canvas export may drop metadata depending on the pipeline. For privacy-focused stripping, use the Image tools hub metadata section.

FAQ

Do you store my file?

No. Resize runs locally in your browser; nothing is uploaded to Toolcore.

How is this different from Image tools (full workspace)?

This page is a focused resize and export flow. The workspace adds convert, enhance, and metadata panels in one place.

Related utilities you can open in another tab—mostly client-side.
